The 2020 Inscribe the Word Bible Study Series.
Welcome to 2020, My Friends! Are you ready to Inscribe the Word with us this year?
It is going to be a year of growth, encouragement, renewal, and hope. GET READY!
We started to Inscribe the Word in 2016, and since that time hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children all over the world are getting closer to Jesus and learning more about His Word through these simple plans. We are so incredibly blessed.
We have compiled a list of all of our Inscribe the Word plans from past years into one ULTIMATE INSCRIBE THE WORD List. We hope it gives you quick access to all of our previous plans. There are a lot of them!
WHAT IS IN STORE FOR 2020?
In the Summer of 2019, I started praying for the direction and vision for Inscribe the Word 2020. As I prayed and studied, I kept coming back to one theme . . .
THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD.
Author and scholar Arthur W. Pink said, “An unknown God can neither be trusted, served, nor worshipped.” This quote got me asking myself . . . Do I really know God? Do I know His character/attributes? Do I trust Him because I know Him or do I trust Him because it sounds good? Do I serve Him because He is wonderful and marvelous? Do I worship Him out of duty and obligation or because I am in awe of who He is? Do I really KNOW Him? Do I truly know and understand The Attributes of God?
We live in a society and culture that is all about “self”. Everything is set up to gratify ourselves. We long for identity, but we are looking for it in all the wrong places. Self-help books, meditation apps, Pinterest printables, Social Media, etc. We want to know who we are so we search, search, and search some more.
I was tempted to focus the year on our Identity in Christ which is a great topic and one I may do in the future. But the Lord said to me, “How can you know your identity in Me if you don’t know Me?”
This hit me so hard, My Friend. The Bible says that we are made in the image of God, so how can we know ourselves if we don’t know who He is? (Genesis 1:27)
And while this study will point us in the direction of our identity, which is wonderful. That isn’t going to be the focus.
THE FOCUS OF THIS YEAR’S INSCRIBE THE WORD
A.W. Tozer said in his book The Knowledge of the Holy, “The low view of God entertained almost universally among Christians is the casue of a hundred lesser evils everywhere among us . . .The decline of the knowledge of The Holy has brought on our troubles. A rediscovery of the majesty of God will go a long way in curing them.”
The focus of our 2020 Attributes of God series will be to get back the majesty of The Holy.
The focus will be on getting back our spirit of worship.
The focus will be on getting away from the noise to meet with God in stillness and quiet.
The focus will be on understanding the Majesty of Heaven and the Composer of this masterpiece called LIFE.
The focus will be on HIM.
And in turn, as Tozer so brilliantly composed may this knowledge of The Holy go a long way in curing the troubles we have and in understanding who we are in Christ.
I’m new. WHERE DO I BEGIN?
If you have never done a Scripture Writing or Inscribe the Word plan, don’t worry. It is so simple. The idea is to write the Scripture. As you write, the words come alive on the page, and you truly focus on the meaning, context, and entirety of the Scripture.
